Parent Participation

Once you become a member of Lambrick Park Preschool and Childcare, you will have certain responsibilities that you may need to participate in such as:

  • Orientation
  • Duty Days
  • Monthly Meetings
  • Preschool Job
  • Fundraising
  • Cleaning Days
  • Refreshments for Meetings
  • Parent Education

Lambrick Park Preschool is a parent-owned and democratically-run organization.  Being a Parent Participation preschool, it relies wholly on the involvement of parents, both in its administration and in the general operation of the preschool. Parents are responsible for sharing in the committed involvement and initiative that is necessary in assuring that we operate effectively.   Each family is required to participate in a number of different ways:  as a "helping parent" in the classroom, by assuming a specific “job" within the school, by attending monthly meetings, and by assisting with school fundraising.  An elected group of fellow parents form the Executive, a group which conducts the ongoing "business" of the preschool, proposing and maintaining a workable budget, dealing with concerns of the members, and leading various committees throughout the year.
