Sooke Preschool has an opening in September 2012 for an early childhood educator (E.C.E.) for a parent participation preschool program that currently runs 3 days per week (6 sessions or 24 hours) with the potential of 5 days per week (8 sessions or 32 hours)
We welcome applications from E.C.E.’s who are licensed in B.C. and meet the following criteria:
| • | E.C.E. post-secondary credential plus minimum two years of related experience working with children. |
| • | Ability to work closely with parents to guide them both as assistants in the classroom and in their co-operative positions. |
| • | Ability to work diplomatically with people at multiple levels (i.e., with children, parents, executive board, landlord, other E.C.E.’s, V.I.C.P.A.). |
We are looking for a dedicated person who can nurture our children, inspire our families, and become part of our community. Experience in a co-operative or non-profit environment is an asset.

The Vancouver Island Coop Preschool Association is currently seeking licensed ECE’s for substitute work during the 2009/2010 school year.
Vancouver Island Cooperative Preschool Association (VICPA) preschools provide a play-based curriculum that:
| • | supports the development of the whole child - socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. |
| • | allows for the recognition of each child’s unique learning style, abilities, and developmental level. |
| • | allows for hands on learning, where the curriculum can emerge from the children’s interests, needs and |
| desires; making learning concrete and meaningful. |
All VICPA preschools are parent-operated on a cooperative basis. The preschools are administered and maintained by the parents on a non-profit, non-sectarian, inter-racial basis. Under the guidance of a qualified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) parents assist in the classroom. We are currently seeking substitutes for all 14 preschools on Vancouver Island.
